Whitfield spent his early career as an assistant coach at the University of Iowa. Prior to joining the Hawkeyes, he had a brief stint as a quarterback in the Arena Football League. After his time at Iowa he joined the San Diego Chargers as an intern with the quarterback coaching staff, and it was there that he mapped out his future and realized his dream of teaching fellow signalcallers how to be the best in the game. Super Bowl XLIV Champion, Lance Moore, also an Ohio native, went from undrafted to the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame. Moore played at The University of Toledo from 2001-2004, where he became the first player in the University’s history to have multiple seasons with over 1,000 yards receiving. From Toledo he went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL, with the New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions, amassing 389 receptions, over 4,800 yards and 45 total touchdowns for his career. In his time with the Saints he quickly became a favorite target of Drew Brees for his clutch catches and big play ability. After his time in the NFL he retired and set his sights on coaching and developing the fundamentals and techniques of the younger generation of skill players. Moore brings an expansive knowledge of the games skill positions, with a “Master’s Degree” in route running.
